Custom Dog Leg Brace – AMS SPLINT

$30.00$60.00

AMS – SPLINT is a sheet of specific plastic to make a custom dog leg brace.  This low thermoplastic sheet becomes soft and pliable with low heat such as with hot water. When it is warm and soft, you can mould it directly around the leg of your dog and shape it to the exact contour of the patient’s leg.

It is a great support to complement a soft leg wrap and make it more sturdy.
You can purchase the AMS – SPLINT by itself. Or add a soft leg wrap to hold it in place more easily.
BT JOINT for the wrist area – BT HOCK for the ankle area.

-Carpal /Tarsal Deviation (varus, valgus)

-Carpal and hock hyperextension

-Ligament instability

-Tendon injury requiring immobilisation such as Achilles tear/rupture

Custom Dog Carpal Brace (Wrist)

Custom Dog Hock Brace (Ankle)

ADVANTAGES

Because a custom dog leg brace follows the exact contour of the leg, it is that it is more likely to be comfortable than standard rigid splints.
The advantage of using AMS-Splint as a carpal brace is that you can easily fit it with a dog leg wrap to hold it in place. No need for additional foam or straps.

RECOMMENDATIONS TO USE FOR A CUSTOM DOG LEG BRACE

  • During the period of restraint, it is advisable not to leave the dog alone for too long, because it might try to remove the brace, by biting or scratching it.
  • Exposure to heat and sun can potentially result in melting or change to shape. Store at room temperature.

As your pet has the potential to damage the brace or injure itself, we recommend the supervision of your dog at all times when wearing the brace.
